Wrong Way Driver Causes Accident
A wrong way driver at Presque Isle Park in Marquette is believed to be responsible for a little boy falling off a 20 foot cliff Tuesday evening.
Marquette City Police say it happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. as the 6-year-old and his dad were riding bikes at the park near Sunset Point. Police say the pair pulled over to the lake side of the road to avoid a blue and white utility truck traveling the wrong way around the island road. The 6-year-old’s bike hit a pile of brush forcing him off the roadway and over the cliff. The boy landed on the shoreline about 3 feet from the water’s edge. He ended up with a minor cut to his wrist and complained of back pain. He was transported to Marquette General for treatment.
Marquette City Police are asking for help in locating the driver of that blue and white utility truck. It was at the Presque Isle Park shortly before 5:30 Tuesday evening. If you can help identify the driver, call the marquette Police Department at 906–228 –0400.
