Man Arraigned for Theft of Women's Clothing
A registered sex offender is in jail tonight in Marquette County.
He was arrested in connection to a number of strange thefts in the Witch Lake area.
48 year–old William Joseph Miller of Republic Township was arraigned this afternoon in Marquette County.
He’s charged with 2 counts of larceny.
He is also charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
Miller is suspected in at least 10 separate incidents in which women’s underclothes and swim wear were stolen.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says the thefts took place between July 17th and July 25th.
Police say clothing items were taken in eight incidents from clothes lines at camps on Witch Lake.
Two other incidents involved clothing being removed from vehicles.
Police executed a search warrant on millers residence in Republic Township.
They found evidence linking Miller to the thefts.
Deputies believe there may be other victims in the area.
