Michigan Rehabilitation Services
Michigan Rehabilitation Services offers employment services to state residents with disabilities.
The state agency also helps employers find and retain qualified workers with disabilities.
But it’s preparing for possible budget cuts.
It held a public meeting in Marquette today about its plan for fiscal 2013.
The agency would move from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to the Department of Human Services.
It would also create a statewide waiting list for services.
Jaye Porter, the director of Michigan Rehabilitation Services, says
the waiting list, called an Order for Selection of Services, is a federal requirement if the agency doesn’t have enough money or staff.
