Red Cross On Duty at Duck Lake Fire
The Superior U.P. Chapter of the Red Cross has more than 20 volunteers from the local chapter, and from across Michigan, helping the victims and the firefighters.
A shelter is open at the Newberry American Legion Post for anyone displaced by the fire.
Red Cross nurses and counselors are available at the shelter for both victims and responders, so the group is inviting anyone in the community to stop by.
If anyone in the Newberry area is interested in volunteering with the Red Cross, the group is holding information and orientation sessions tomorrow.
They’re at both 2 pm and 7 pm at the Newberry Legion Post.
For more information, the group says you can call 293–8711.
And it also says it especially needs licensed health, and mental health, providers.
