Wildfire Evacuation in Luce County
Fire crews are being pulled from the Seney fire to go to Newberry, and evacuation plans are being put into play.
Authorities in northern Luce County are evacuating residents north and northeast of Pike Lake.
A large wildfire is headed towards that area.
Officials say the fire line is five miles long and a mile wide.
Fire spotting is happening half a mile in front of the fire as it moves to the north-northeast.
Fire crews from several surrounding areas have been dispatched to help with containment and evacuation.
The fire is thought to have been caused by lightning.
A shelter has been set up by the American Red Cross at the Newberry Youth Center.
