Chocolay Township Community Garden Work Days Scheduled
Chocolay Township is starting a Community Garden and has plots available.
There are two work days to build the garden -Saturday May 12,Saturday May 19, 9:30am-1pm. The Main work day is May 12.
The garden will be at 224 Silver Creek Rd – behind Harvey Baptist Church.
This project is being overseen by two boy scouts who are creating the garden for their Eagle Scout Projects. Scouts – Ethan Park and Mathew Collins, troop #370. Ethan Park is 14 years old, in 8th grade at Bothwell MS. Mathew Collins is 15 yrs old, 10th grade at Marquette Senior High School.
Funding for the garden provided by three local Rotary clubs matched by a district grant from Rotary International.
Menard’s is supplying materials at a discount.
Community Members are invited to come and help put in the garden. The garden will contain raised beds. Chocolay residents can sign up for a bed at the Chocolay township hall. Sizes and prices vary.
