Home Invasion Case will go to Trial
The case against a Houghton County man charged with stealing the purse of an 80-year-old woman will go to trial.
20-year-old Michael Hylton of Hancock pled not guilty to first degree home invasion and larceny in a building today.
The charges stem of an incident in November 2011 when Hylton and 17-year-old Corey Hansen of South Range allegedly stole the purse from a Hancock resident while she was getting one of the suspects a drink of water.
In March, Hansen was sentenced to one year in jail for the incident.
A third suspect…17-year-old Andrew Looper of Hancock was also sentenced to one year in jail for stealing the social security check from the same elderly woman.
The trial for Hylton was set for September.
