Marquette County Republican Convention
The Marquette County chapter of one of America’s major political parties is holding its annual convention tonight.
The Marquette County Republicans are meeting at Wahlstrom’s restaurant in Harvey.
They’ll decide who should go to the Michigan Republican Convention as delegates.
The Marquette County Republicans say they should have the results Friday morning.
Party chair Dan Adamini says the state convention is in Detroit on may 17th and 18th, and the county can send up to 12 delegates and 12 alternates.
But the real competition should take place downstate — deciding who gets to go to Tampa, Florida for a week in August for the Republican National Convention.
Adamini says Michigan’s First Congressional District can only send three delegates, and several people are already trying to attract support.
