Body of Minnesota man found in Portage Canal

HANCOCK – The body of a Minnesota man was found in the Portage Canal on Monday.

Hancock Police found the body of 40-year-old Benjamin Julik on the shoreline near the 1400 block of Jasper Street at around 4 p.m.

They said the body had likely been in the water for over a week.

The medical examiner said drowning was the likely cause of death. According to police, no trauma or injury was apparent and there is no evidence of foul play.
