42nd Annual Hiawatha Music Festival Postponed.

Marquette County residents will have to find non–traditional way to enjoy traditional music this summer.

The 42nd annual Hiawatha Traditional music festival has been postponed to 2022 due to the covid–19 pandemic.

It was initially scheduled July 16th through the 18th.

A Facebook post from the co–op board and staff says in part:

“The uncertainty of health, financial and safety factors led us to this difficult conclusion. We know this is going to be a big disappointment to everyone.”

The organization is working to find alternatives, one includes a possible week of virtual music in the traditional festival style.

The festival is the largest of its kind in the Upper Pninsula and typically brings thousands of people to Marquette.

The 2020 festival was also canceled due to the pandemic.
