Drug arrest in Ishpeming
A month’s long investigation led to two drug-related arrests in Ishpeming over the weekend. Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team found eight children and four adults during a search of an Ishpeming residence on Saturday.
One adult male was found to be in possession of 18 grams of crystal meth and was arrested on an outstanding warrant. An adult female was also arrested on drug-related charges.
A medical exam on the children was conducted by the Marquette County Department of Health and Human Services.
Officials believed some of the children – who range in age from 2 to 13 years old – may have bee exposed to, or were using crystal meth.
The investigation is ongoing and no names have been released at this time.
