Noquemanon Trail Network gears up for first ever Trailraiser
MARQUETTE — The Noquemanon Trail Network is hosting a fundraiser that gets the community involved and active.
The first ever NTN Trailraiser begins on July 17, and continues through the 26. Within those days, participants can do any activity of their choice on the trails.
The Trailraiser will help the NTN board its mission to maintain and support the area’s trails during this challenging year.
“A lot of the events that the Noquemanon Trail Network use as fundraising efforts have been canceled this year because of COVID-19,” explained NTN board member Paul Johnston. “We needed a new way to gather support apart from our standing memberships and business memberships. People can run, bike, walk, and they choose to donate $1 per mile completed. Also, they have a page that they can get ready when they sign up, and they can solicit sponsorships from friends and family as well. They can also make a standing donation too through the registration page.”
Those who raise at a minimum of 50 dollars will receive a Trailraiser t-shirt. The top individual and the top team will receive an NTN swag package, as well as a plaque on one of the trails.
The Trail Network board hopes that participants will take proper health precautions while getting outside in support of the trails.
“People are out and about in different ways, and some feel comfortable being out in smaller groups and others don’t,” said Johnston. “So we’re trying to find ways to engage all of our supporters in different ways and allow them to continue to support us and let us do what we do.”
