Kingsford Public Safety responds to garage fire

KINGSFORD — On Wednesday, May 13 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Kingsford Public Safety was dispatched to the 400 block of Fulton Street in response to a report of a structure fire.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered a detached garage on fire. Officers were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which is believed to have been caused by a woodstove. Damage was contained to the wall of the garage, with no damage to its contents or to surrounding structures.

Officers cleared the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m. Kingsford Public Safety was assisted by the Michigan State Police.
