Two arrested in connection with headstone destruction in Iron Mountain
IRON MOUNTAIN — Two individuals have been arrested and arraigned in connection to malicious destruction to the cemetery headstones at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park, first reported on May 6th.
The arrests are as follows:
Darian Matthew Unrein- age 19, charged with one count of Malicious Destruction of Tombs and Memorials, $1,000 or more but less than $20,000. This felony carries a punishment of 5 years and/or $10,000.
Harley David-William Sherk- age 25, charged with one count of Tombs and Memorials. $1,000 or more but less than $20,000, along with Habitual Offender- Third Offense Notice.
Both subjects are lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center on cash bonds. As a result of the investigation conducted by the Iron Mountain Police Department, several other Misdemeanor Malicious Destruction of Property complaints, originating from Iron Mountain and Kingsford, were solved.
