7th-annual Festival of the Angry Bear to be streamed online
MARQUETTE — The COVID–19 pandemic has led to the cancellations and postponements of many live events; however, one prominent festival in Marquette is changing its format.
The Ore Dock Brewing Company’s “Festival of the Angry Bear,” now in its 7th year, is moving to an online format. Intended as a celebration of spring, the Ore Dock still wanted to bring the spirit of the festival to the community in these difficult times.
“We are staying connected and staying positive, and as challenging as this is, there is a brighter day, and that’s really what Angry Bear has always been about,” said Kris Wierenga, Entertainment Manager for Ore Dock. “Just this community and the people in it, and friends and family, and bringing all of those elements together, and having a good time with each other.”
A virtual toast and owners address, kicking off the festival’s events, will be held at 8 p.m. this Saturday on Facebook Live. Events include live, interactive beer tasting, giveaways, and others.
Bands and artists that were slated to perform at this year’s Angry Bear will still be performing, just on an online stream where people can tune in.
Angry Bear is famous for its special barrel–aged beer, which is still available for pickup Wednesday through Saturday.
