GINCC celebrating 10-year anniversary in community

ISHPEMING — The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a 10-year anniversary this year after opening their doors in 2010.

The GINCC works with over 200 businesses on the West End of Marquette County to help promote small town businesses. With 10 years now reached the chamber is seeing growth and looks forward to increasing it more over time.

“Overall, I think the West End is growing,” said Bob Hendrickson, Executive Director at the GINCC. “There is a lot of community energy and all of the communities including Ishpeming, Negaunee, Republic and Michigamee have small governments and people that live there. These small governments and the people in them want to see growth and evolution for what their community has.”

Hendrickson added, “We would like to reach up to 250 members this year. We are going to re-engage with a lot of the members that may have dropped off or may have not been contacted for awhile and start reaching out to them. Then we will still play to the role with the active members that have been supporting us for the past 10 years.”
