2020 Teal Lake Fishing Derby debuting in Negaunee for its first time
NEGAUNEE — The South Shore Fishing Association is hosting the first Teal Lake Fishing Derby on Saturday February 1st.
The 2020 Teal Lake Fishing Derby will begin at 7 a.m. and go till 2 p.m. The event will consist of judging different species of fish that include Perch, Walleye, and Pike. Each of those categories will have prizes for both adults and children.
“There is going to be three different categories,” explained Cory Larson, South Shore Fishing Association. “The categories are Pike, Walleye, and Perch. There is only one place for Pike, first, second and third for Walleye and Perch. This will be for both adults and kids. Cash prizes will be given to adults and we have a bunch of children’s packages for the kids.”
To participate in the 2020 Teal Lake Fishing Derby you will need to register and pay to participate. Adults will be $10 and Children 12 and under are free. Registration can be done at 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.at the Teal Lake Boat Launch. The association will also be offering a team event during the derby that will cost $40.
