Double Trouble Entertainment excited for another New Years Eve celebration
MARQUETTE — There’s only one day left in 2019, which means there’s just one more night to celebrate everything that happened this year, and get ready for the New Year. There’s one place holding two different events in downtown Marquette where you can do just that. Double Trouble Entertainment is putting on their annual ball drop in downtown Marquette, along with a party inside the Masonic Center, the Ball Drop Bash.
Inside the Masonic building there will be 4 different cash bars, several DJs, and three different bands playing throughout the night, and the money raised from the event will be going to great local causes like different Masonic charities and the Ahmed Shriners, all as a part of their Party with a Purpose.
“It’s just a great way to end the year for us and begin the next one, and serving our community,” said William Digneit, owner of Double Trouble Entertainment. “When Double Trouble started 16 years ago, we just said ‘if we take care of our community, they’re going to take care of us.’ So this is kind of our way to give back. We start at the end of one year, finish at the beginning of a new year, and it’s just a great way to support Marquette and the U.P.”
Along with the six different DJs performing inside the Masonic Building, the band will include Tease, Everything Under the Sun, and Reality Bites. There also will be food, a photo booth, and giveaways which include trips to the Wisconsin Dells, a Red Wings game, and more.
Of course everything is leading up to the ball drop to bring in the New Year on Washington Street at midnight, where the street will be closed down for the outdoor celebration with some new and exciting upgrades to the party.
“So new and exciting this year at the ball drop, we’ve upgraded the lighting on the ball, kind of gave it an overhaul if you will,” said Digneit. “It’s been taking it’s toll, and we want to keep it fresh. And down on the ground where we drop the ball to, you’ll definitely see a little more technical spectacle, a bigger sound system, more lights. Just a ton of fun to really be rocking down there.”
Tickets for the Masonic Ball Drop Bash costs $15 online, or $20 at the door, and that goes from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. To purchase tickets for the event, click here.
And the celebration on Washington Street is free to the public and family friendly, and will be going on from 11 p.m. until about 12:30 a.m.
