MARQUETTE — An annual music festival put on by the Marquette West Rotary Club is taking place this weekend, beginning Friday evening.

HarborFest is held every year at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. It’s a free two–day event with a packed schedule of live music, food, games, and other activities. Pam Christensen, HarborFest co–chair and secretary of the Marquette West Rotary Club, says HarborFest has become a staple end of summer event in Marquette.

“Marquette West Rotary has done HarborFest for almost forty years,” said Christensen. “And it’s something that a lot of people in the community and visitors look forward to every year.”

All the money raised from HarborFest is put toward the Marquette West Rotary Foundation. The Foundation will then distribute those funds to local nonprofits, which will use their services to help and give back to the community.
