Dia De Los Tacos closing at the end of summer

MARQUETTE — A food truck that is a staple to the food culture of Marquette will be closing their doors at the end of September.

Dia De Los Tacos has been making authentic Mexican cuisine in the Marquette area for over 6 years and are now on a farewell tour to end the business.

Mike Walker, the owner of the food truck, is looking to change up his life and try some new things.

He is very grateful for the support from the community and the opportunity to bring some good street cuisine to many people in the Marquette area.

“I have been thinking about it for a long time,” explained Mike Walker, Owner of Dia De Los Tacos. “I want to try something different in my life you know? I feel like we have accomplished a lot in the last six years in this truck. I am real proud of what we have done and I just wanted to try and stretch out and something new. Honestly I couldn’t be more grateful, and I don’t want anybody to think that I don’t recognize how fortunate I’ve been and how we’ve been to operate the way that we have. We have enjoyed the support of the people in town and the people who come to visit. It has been really overwhelming and means a lot to me.”

There have been people interested in purchasing the truck.

So we may see Dia De Los Tacos again or maybe even a new food truck hit the streets in the near future.
