MDOT investing in road projects in the U.P.

UPPER PENINSULA — Iron County’s US-2 and Menominee County’s M-35 will be undergoing resurfacing projects May through August.

MDOT is investing about $2.9 million to mill, resurface and seal 3.9 miles of US-2 from North River Avenue to Bates-Amasa Road in the city of Iron River, Iron County.

This project includes a three-year pavement materials and workmanship warranty.

The project is estimated to go from May 13th, 2019 to August 30th, 2019.

While MDOT is also investing about $1.4 million to mill, repair pavement joints, resurface, and seal about 9 miles of M-35 from Jimtown Road to Dunkas Road in Menominee County.

This project includes a two-year pavement performance warranty.

The project is estimated to go from May 13th, 2019 to August 13th, 2019.

This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.
