Garage fire in Marquette sends man to hospital
MARQUETTE –The Marquette City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported garage/structure fire located at 1102 Grant.
On scene firefighters encountered a vehicle on fire, located inside of a detached garage.
A Second alarm was called by the Incident Commander shortly after arrival for additional personnel.
The individual who reported the fire met the Incident Commander in the driveway.
The individual had attempted to extinguish the fire and had suffered burns to his extremities.
EMS on scene rendered care and transported male victim to UPHS Marquette.
His injuries and status are unknown at this time.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire with approximately 300 gallons of water, and then ventilated the structure of smoke.
Firefighters were on scene for an hour.
The Marquette City Fire Department was assisted on scene by UP Health Systems Ambulance Crew.
