Lightning believed to be cause of fire, structure a total loss

MARQUETTE — At 7:55 AM today the Marquette Fire Department was dispatched to 401
Lincoln Ave (Sundara House) for a general fire alarm.

Dispatch informed that there was a possible lightning strike to the structure, or nearby. The buildings were investigated and found that the fire alarm system had sustained damage, and was not functioning properly, possibly from power surge.

After no damage found the fire crews disabled the alarms and put the structure on fire watch. When leaving the first incident a structure to the southwest was discovered to be fully engulfed with fire.
The physical address of the building engulfed in flames was 910 Grant Ave. Class A foam and approximately 700 gallons of water was used for initial knock down.

No injuries were reported. The Structure was a total loss.

Fire remains under investigation at this time.
