Dancing with our Stars and raising money for hospice
MARQUETTE — Dancing with our Stars Marquette County Style had its 6th annual show tonight in Marquette. The community came together to watch some dancing and to support the Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation.
The event kicked off with a red carpet ceremony where the public got to enjoy some food and beverages.
During the Red Carpet Event the public had the opportunity to vote for their favorite dancers and donate to the UP Home, Health and Hospice.
“One-hundred percent of money raised in Dancing with our Stars gets to go back to hospice patients and their families right here in Marquette County,” said, Dancing with our Stars Event Coordinator, Lindsay Hemmila. “Initially we had said in the beginning that if we could just break even it would be a win-win situation. Now we find that it’s been a super successful event.”
