Tip to authorities led to arrest
MARQUETTE COUNTY — Yesterday a man was arrested after a tip was sent to the authorities.
Thursday night at approximately 11:25 pm, Forsyth Township officers were alerted that a man high on meth was in the area of the Ace Hardware.
The man was apprehended and identified as Steven David Baker, 26, of Gwinn.
A search conducted after the confrontation involved the discovery of a stolen hand gun which was loaded and being concealed by the suspect.
The gun was reported stolen in 2013 to the Forsyth Township Police Department.
Baker has been charged with two different crimes which include carrying a concealed weapon and a firearm being possessed by a felon.
Baker was lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
