MARQUETTE — Former NFL Coach Steve Mariucci met with members of the Marquette community to gain support for Beacon House’s new building, set to go by the new hospital in Marquette.

“We’re committed to making it bigger and better and more convenient for them right next to the hospital, so this meeting we’re having here with people in town and people out of town is to brainstorm how we’re going to build this new building,” he said.

Plans for fundraising include naming rights for rooms, and the Beacon House is hoping that the old building on Third Street, when sold, will help for funding.

“We need the community’s support, but we’ll go from there,” said Mariucci. “We’re very optimistic that we’re going to get this done.”

Mariucci has been a part of Beacon house for over a decade, and emphasized the need for a bigger facility.
