UPDATE: Two dead in Trout Creek fire
UPDATE: Tuesday, February 13th at 9:00 a.m.
The names of the two people who died following a structure fire in Trout Creek over the weekend have been released.
Forty-eight year-old David Saubert and six year-old David Saubert Jr. were found dead inside a home on Old Mill Town Road Sunday morning.
The cause to the fire is undetermined at this time. The fire is still under investigation.
TROUT CREEK — Two are dead following a structure fire in Trout Creek on Sunday.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a structure fire on Old Mill Town Road just after 6:30 a.m. The residence was occupied by two male individuals, a 48 year-old male and a 6 year-old male.
The individuals were found dead inside the home. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of the family.
The house was a total loss in the fire. The incident is still under investigation.
Trout Creek and Duncan Township Volunteer Fire Departments, Ontonagon County Victims Services Unit and Michigan State Troopers, K-9 Unit and Fire Marshall all assisted on the scene.
