CHRISTMAS — One driver was arrested on a DUI charge following a car accident that occurred on November 22nd.

Around 6:00 p.m., Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle personal injury crash in Christmas.

A 2011 GMC Yukon driven by a 29 year-old woman from Munising was exiting the parking lot of the White Pine Lodge on the south side of M-28. The driver failed to yield to an eastbound 2007 GMC Yukon driven by a 39 year-old woman, also from Munising. The 2011 GMC was struck on the driver’s side and the vehicle flipped onto its side.

Both drivers and the passenger in the 2011 GMC were treated and released from local hospitals.

The driver that failed to yield was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs. She is lodged at the Alger County Jail.
