Blues Fest returns to Alpha this Saturday
ALPHA — A popular musical event is less than 48 hours from making its return for a sixth consecutive year. The End of Summer Blues Fest returns this Saturday in Alpha.
Music starts at 12:30 p.m. CT and features five different acts, including a performance by the Flat Broke Blues Band. Blues Fest is held at the Alpha Pavilion off of County Road 424.
Proceeds from the event will go to American Legion Riders Post 21. Bob Black of Bob Black Promotions says the event gets bigger and bigger each year.
“It’s one of the bigger events in the county. People from the Midwest, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota come to it,” said Black. “It’s a nice, relaxed event. All ages- kids to grandpas and grandmas and everyone in between: bring a bag chair, buy some cheap sunglasses and make sure you have those too. We have a really, really good time there.”
Before the music starts, there will be a Blessing of the Bikes and Bikers at 11:00 a.m. CT. Motorcycles and cars will travel around Iron County and stop at several Veterans Memorials.
Tickets for Blues Fest are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
