UPDATE: Structure fire closes portion of US-2

UPDATE: Tuesday, August 1, 2017 2:30 P.M. EDT

According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, firefighters are currently battling a fire at Pete’s Auto. Due to the size of the fire, U.S. 2 & U.S. 41 will be closed down temporarily. A detour is set up directing traffic onto Old state road.

The highway is expected to be shut down for at least two more hours. It is asked to drive cautiously through this area.

DELTA COUNTY — An ongoing fire has closed US-2 in Delta County.

According to information from the Michigan Department of Transportation, eastbound and westbound traffic on US-2 at K-Lane is closed due to a structure fire. MDOT made the announcement at 12:30 p.m.
