Jason Sadowski out on bond

MARQUETTE — Nearly four years after he was arrested on charges of seven felony charges, Jason Sadowski walked out of jail Friday afternoon.

Last Friday, a jury found him not guilty of kidnapping and torture charges during his re-trial in Marquette County Circuit Court. In court Friday morning, Sadowski was granted bond by Judge Timothy Greeley in his federal case for allegedly possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

During his detention hearing in U.S. District Court, Sadowski’s lawyer Beth LaCosse argued that her client is “Not a risk or a danger to our community.” According to his bond conditions, Sadowski cannot leave the Upper Peninsula.

He also cannot consume any drugs or alcohol while he’s out on bond. There’s no word yet on when Sadowski is due back in federal court.
