Kettle of Hope campaign a success for Salvation Army
ESCANABA — Though it was struggling to meet donation goals just days before Christmas, the Salvation Army in Escanaba announced that its annual Kettle of Hope campaign was a success.
The campaign raised $190,583 this year, which was 103 percent of their goal. This was $5,000 more than the previous year.
A Christmas dinner along with toys, stocking-stuffers and winter gear was provided to 300 local families and over 400 children.
The campaign also ensures other programs, like Summer Day Camp and monthly food assistance, are able to run.
