Changes coming to popular restaurant & bar
MARQUETTE — After throwing a phenomenal party in Downtown Marquette on New Year’s Eve, the owners of Double Trouble Entertainment are starting 2017 with a big project.
The Digneits purchased the Doghouse Pub back in August. As of Monday, the popular downtown destination is closed.
That’s because the restaurant and bar on West Washington Street is undergoing a facelift. Patrons can expect to see new tables, chairs, food choices and more.
“We’re really going to bring live entertainment. We want to be an entertainment based venue with lots of great food and be family oriented,” said Bill Digneit. “We want all kinds of people to come down and enjoy the atmosphere that we’re going to be building. It will be a new layout, nothing to structural, more cosmetic just giving it a freshened up, a freshened up kind of look.”
Digneit expects the renovation to take approximately three to four weeks, with the goal of being open for the sled dog races in February.
