IRON MOUNTAIN — Veterans from the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin will get a chance to find out more about VA benefits and services this week.

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain will be holding two Veteran Town Halls on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016. Leaders from the medical center and area County Veteran Service Officers will be on hand to discuss topics such as the Veterans Choice Program with area Veterans. A big part of the events is the opportunity for officials to listen to comments and concerns from those Veterans.

“We have done a number of these Veteran Town Halls over the last few years and found them to be very beneficial in understanding our Veterans’ concerns and helping them to resolve any issues that they may have,” said Oscar G. Johnson VAMC Public Affairs Officer Brad Nelson.

Wednesday’s events will be held at 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. in the Holman Room located in the basement of the medical center’s main building. The Town Halls are open to all Veterans, their families and friends, and the public. Over the last four years, the VA medical center has conducted 33 Veteran Town Halls throughout the U.P. and northern Wisconsin.
