Serious two car accident injures at least one driver
ISHPEMING — Shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Dr. and US 41 in Ishpeming, police and emergency crews responded to a two car personal injury accident. A red Dodge Ram and a red Saturn were involved in the wreck.
An unconscious man in the Saturn was extracted from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. It appeared the man in the Dodge pickup truck was tested for alcohol, and then taken from the scene by law enforcement. The injured driver was transported from the scene on a stretcher to UP Health System Bell.
Traffic is being organized by police. Drivers are advised to use caution when approaching the intersection and traffic may be re-routed.
