DJ company holding mock debate & taking over NYE Ball Drop
MARQUETTE — With Election Day just six days away, Double Trouble DJ’s in Harvey is going to have a little fun with the presidential nominees while helping out a very good cause at the same time.
This Saturday at 7:00 p.m., Double Trouble DJ’s is hosting an event called, Champagne Campaign: A Monumental Mock Debate. The debate will feature Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump.
Both ‘nominees’ will go at it on the debate stage one more time. All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Beacon House.
“We’re not trying to have any fights or any actual political debates, just more of the hilarity of it,” said Denise Blizondo, office manager at Double Trouble. “You’ll get a ballot when you come in, you’ll be able to vote for whichever candidate you so choose,” added Blizondo. “We’re going to decide who Marquette’s choosing to be president.”
Tickets for the debate are ten dollars. You find that information by clicking HERE.
In addition to the political debate fundraiser, Double Trouble has taken over the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in Marquette.
“Basically when we saw it wasn’t happening, we were like ‘Do you think we can really pull it off?’ said Blizondo. “We went and talked to the DDA and they thought it was a good idea.”
The New Year’s Eve Ball Drop will take place at the Masonic Building on Washington Street. Double Trouble is still working on finalizing details for the event.
