Trent Bell commits to Michigan Tech
NEGAUNEE — Miners basketball player Trent Bell announced on Twitter last night that he will be taking his talents to Michigan Tech after his senior year. The 6’7″ big man is one of the best players in the U.P., but he knows what he has to work on so that he has continued success at the college level.
“I’m definitely going to have to become more of like a shooter and like a guard. Whereas I could post up in high school, I’m not going to be able to do that as much in college with bigger players and everybody is more athletic,” said Bell.
Bell joins North Central’s Dawson Bilski, who committed to Tech earlier this week. The two are teammates on the local AAU team. Bell adds that his family is very excited about his decision to play in the Copper Country.
“They’re happy they get to watch all of our games so it’s nice. I want to stay close to home but I also want to feel that going–away–for–college atmosphere and I feel like it’s the best of both worlds in that,” Bell said.
Bell will major in wildlife ecology and management.
