NWS confirms tornado on video in Upper Peninsula
NEWBERRY — A possible tornado touches down in the Upper Peninsula.
“^ This was taken from the southwest corner of the airport in Newberry, MI. It shows the formation of a possible tornado just to the east of the airport. All forest, no homes, not even any roads where it was.” – Youtube, Joe C
The video posted to Youtube shows the possible tornado occurred Friday, July 8, 2016 about three miles east-northeast of the Newberry Airport in Luce County.
The National Weather Service is working on verification of an actual touchdown, but says, “Due to the heavily forested location in which the tornado may have touched down, it will be difficult to complete a storm survey.”
