Emergency responders quickly contain structure fire
CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — Thanks to the quick effort of several emergency responders, a greenhouse in Chocolay Township did not totally go up in flames Friday evening.
At around 9:45 p.m., firefighters from across Marquette country were called to structure fire on Greenfield Road.
A Chocolay Township police officer was first on scene. The officer and the owner of the greenhouse were able to stop the flames from spreading throughout the greenhouse using a fire extinguisher and a hose.
Firefighters from Chocolay Township were able to completely put out the fire a short time later.
There’s no word yet on the extent of the damage. No one was injured in the fire and the incident remains under investigation.
