Car thief receives jail sentence
MARQUETTE — Two men were sentenced in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning.
Nineteen year-old Clay Overmyer was sentenced to six months in jail and 18 months probation under the Holmes Youth Trainee Act.
If he complies with the terms of his probation, no conviction will be entered in the case and records of the court’s disposition will be sealed.
Overmyer was arrested last July after he broke into the Cruise and Coffee in Marquette and made away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Next on the docket was 23-year-old David Illikainen, who received 18 months probation following a nine–month jail sentence.
Ishpeming Township Police arrested him in April after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle out of Wisconsin.
