Students/faculty evacuated after bomb threat

ST. IGNACE — Troopers from the Michigan State Police – St. Ignace Post responded to a report of a bomb threat at St. Ignace Elementary/Middle School.

At approximately 10:20 a.m. students and faculty were evacuated from the building while a search was conducted. The students were transported to the Little Bear Ice Arena to be released to family members. After the investigation by a canine team, there was no evidence of an explosive device being within the building.

Troopers were assisted by officers from the St. Ignace Police Department and Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department. The incident remains under investigation.
