Man enters not guilty plea in explosives case
CRYSTAL FALLS — A Crystal Falls man facing felony charges after allegedly attempting to take down a structure with explosives last August has pleaded not guilty in Iron County Circuit Court.
Fifty–eight–year–old Brent Ellis is charged with third degree arson, which is punishable by up to ten years in prison, and possession of firearms by a felon, a five–year felony.
Court records show that Ellis is being charged as a habitual offender, having had previous robbery convictions in Missouri and Kansas.
Ellis was arrested for allegedly trying to bring down the structure in Mastodon Township using a large amount of tannerite and fireworks.
He is scheduled to appear again in Circuit Court for a pretrial on June 13th.
