Pedestrian vs. car accident sends one to the hospital
CALUMET TOWNSHIP — A Calumet man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Saturday afternoon.
According to the Michigan State Police – Calumet Post, a 60-year-old Calumet man was traveling north on US-41 near Union Street in Calumet Township just after 3:30 p.m., when his vehicle struck a 48-year Calumet man. The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
It was later determined by police that the 48-year-old man was at fault in the accident. The pedestrian was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw with a possible head injury.
He was later transported to Aspirus Wausau for surgery. The names of the pedestrian and the driver involved in the accident will not be released and the investigation has been closed.
