UPDATE: Four people severely injured in car accident
UPDATE — 1:50 p.m. March 28th, 2016 (EDT) The names of the persons involved in the two car accident that took place Saturday morning have now been released.
According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, the driver of the pick-up was 44-year old Glenn Grenfell of Iron Mountain and his passenger was seven year old son. They both were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The driver of the sedan was 23-year old David Deford of Appleton, Wis., his passengers included his 26-year old wife Crystal Deford and their one year old daughter. The three were treated and later released from the hospital this morning. Their 10-year old niece remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
MARINETTE COUNTY — Four people were found seriously or critically injured in a two car accident Saturday afternoon, one of them airlifted to a hospital across state lines.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve reports that the two vehicle crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 141 just south of U.S. Highway 8 West.
Deputies on the scene found that a four door sedan with four occupants were traveling southbound and trying to turn in to a B.P. gas station when a north bound pick up truck with two occupants struck the sedan broadside.
The pick up truck came to rest on it’s side after rolling over after impact. The occupants of the truck were treated for minor injuries.
The four occupants of the sedan had serious to critical injuries. Three of them were transported to Dickinson Hospital in Iron Mountain. Eagle Three Helicopter airlifted a fourth, a juvenile female, from the scene to a Green Bay hospital.
The names of the persons involved and further details are still being gathered as the crash remains under investigation.
