Local foundation to hit its biggest milestone
MARQUETTE — A local foundation is about to hit its biggest milestone since its inception three years ago.
The Superior Health Foundation is looking for candidates to receive its latest round of grant funding. The grand total of funds given out will reach seven figures this spring.
Superior Health Foundation Executive Director, Jim LaJoie said, “We have awarded more than $750,000 in health centered grants. So with the grants we will be giving away this year we will go over the one–million dollar mark, which is a huge milestone for the Superior Health Foundation but more importantly it’s huge for the good people of the U.P.”
Four to eight grants are expected to be awarded to qualified applicants. Organizations from all across the U.P. are encouraged to apply.
“Well the types of things we are looking for are health programs, health education type initiatives, indigent care, uninsured. Those types of things that really work and align with the Superior Health Foundations mission to improve the health and well being of the people of the U.P.”
The deadline to submit applications is January fifteenth.
