NEGAUNEE — With Labor Day just around the corner, you might still have summer on your mind, but Halloween is just around the corner.

That’s why the Vista Theater is hard at work preparing for their annual production of Rocky Horror Show. The actors were all abuzz as they came in for their callbacks today. But, don’t expect the same ole, same ole.

“We’re taking a step back. We’re actually going to produce the original Rocky script. One of the things about Rocky Horror is it’s always been a cult classic and a camp film and I think we’re going to have that return to camp,” said Lee LaForge, who’s co–directing this year’s production.

There are some other changes in the works for the theater as well. After a nearly fifteen year run, Rocky Horror is going on hiatus.

“We’ve decided it really ties our hands and we can’t do other great, seasonally appropriate material. We’d love to do something like the Addams Family or Young Frankenstein. Heck, I recently discovered there’s something called Carrie the Musical. We’d like to be able to do something that’s just seasonally appropriate that’s not Rocky Horror,” said PAAC Executive Director Andrew “Bear” Tyler.

You can catch the Show on October 22nd-24th and again on the 29th through the 31st.
