Guilty plea for meth suspect
MARQUETTE — A meth suspect entered a plea agreement in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning.
26–year–old Cora House of Marquette pleaded guilty to one charge of operating or maintaining a meth lab. That charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a $2,500 fine. House and prosecution also came to a sentencing agreement which calls for a minimum sentence of 36 months.
“We believe that the guidelines, although they’re now advisory under Lockridge, would call for a higher sentence, and we’re doing that in exchange for her cooperation in providing testimony against co–defendant Jason Dyer,” said Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Wiese.
If the judge does not sentence in accordance with that agreement at House’s sentencing hearing on October 2nd, she has the option to withdraw her guilty plea. House was arrested on meth charges in April along with Dyer and two others.
