New toy store opens

HANCOCK — A unique toy store is now open in Hancock and you’re invited to stop in for a cup of coffee.

It’s a little bit of childhood fun brewed with some more mature tastes. KC Bonkers on Quincy Street in Hancock recently opened their doors offering customers a wide selection of toys on one side, and a downtown flavored coffee shop on the other.

The store is owned a group of four people, with the enigmatic Mr. Bonkers lurking somewhere in the shadows.

KC Bonkers store co-owner Clay Hilman said, “Well, it really gels through the personality of KC Bonkers himself. He is kind of like a ‘Wizard of Oz’ type of character. In other words, he’s like a guy that’s always behind the scenes pulling the strings. I would say that, really, once he stepped into the picture, it really gelled.”

So, is KC Bonkers a real person?

Hilman said, “Next time I see him, I’ll ask him.”
