NMU’s Voigt named to CSCAA Board
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northern Michigan University head swimming and diving coach Heidi Voigt was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) where she will serve as the primary representative for men’s swimming and diving at the NCAA Division II level.
Voigt enters her sixth season at the helm of the Wildcat swim and dive program and will have the task of restarting the men’s program this upcoming season which will compete for the first time since 1980.
During her tenure, Voigt has sent a total of 14 swimmers and four divers to the NCAA Championships with five swimmers and three divers earning All-American accolades. The Wildcats have also finished third as a team at the GLIAC Championships the past three seasons.
In the 2012-13 season Voigt was recognized as the GLIAC “Dewey Newsome” Coach of the Year along with the NMU Coach of the Year.
“Being asked to be part of the CSCAA board is an honor,” commented Voigt. “I will be able to work on helping our sport give the athletes the best experience possible and recognize ways to support college swimming and diving as a whole.”
NMU opens the 2015-16 season with the Green/Gold Meet in PEIF Pool Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.
