Where to be for 4th of July fireworks
ISHPEMING — Michigan’s Upper Peninsula’s sky is beautiful on a regular night, but wait until you see the UP really shine on the 4th.
-Copper Harbor has been rated as one of the top spots to watch fireworks as they shoot off Porters Island. You can see that show at 10 P.M.
-Marquette will be firing off their firework display around 10 P.M. in Mattson Lower Harbor, and you’ll get to enjoy the sights of the fireworks lighting up the old ore dock.
-You can watch all the excitement in Ishpeming at Al Quaal at 10 P.M. There will also a daytime parade in the downtown area during the day.
-Teal Lake will be a hot spot for those in Negaunee to catch all the action. Fireworks will start at 10 P.M.
-Escanaba will be having their fireworks shoot off at dusk but their fun begins before the show, with patriotic tunes in Ludington park beforehand.
-Munising will be having special boat rides near Pictured Rocks to catch the spectacular displays on Saturday. $25 will get you a short cruise near Pictured Rocks and $15 will get you a bay cruise for a great view of the fireworks. Don’t miss the evening community reunion Friday and Saturday which will be filled with events all day long.
As you can see this Fourth of July is filled with excitement here in the U.P.
